Farimah Daftary is a Senior Non-Resident Research Associate of the European Centre for Minority Issues (ECMI) (Flensburg, Germany) and, in October 2013, joined the International Secretariat of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly in Copenhagen. Her primary research interests are territorial autonomy as a means of conflict regulation and language politics. She has also dealt with EU conditionality and minority protection in Eastern Europe as a Programme Officer for the EU Accession Monitoring Program (EUMAP), Open Society Institute, Budapest.
She has published a number of articles on autonomy in Corsica, power-sharing in Macedonia and language issues in Slovakia. She has also co-edited two volumes on Nation-building, Ethnicity and Language Politics in Transition Countries (LGI/OSI, 2003) and Radical Ethnic Movements in Contemporary Europe (with Stefan Troebst) (Berghahn Books, 2003).
